Joydeep K Roy

As the Global Leader of Insurance Digital Assets for PwC, he makes sure that all internal and externally developed Digital Assets in various areas of Insurance Value Chain from Acquisition, Underwriting, Claims, Service and Analytics are harnessed and utilized to improve the performances of Insurance Clients all over the World. In addition, he also heads the Insurance Practice of PwC in India across all Lines of Business and Services of PwC.
Joydeep Roy has three decades of experience behind him comprising of Consumer Goods, Technology, Banking, Life Insurance, General Insurance and Consulting, along with Board positions in several organizations.
He is ex-Founder CEO of L&T General Insurance and a Founder team member of Tata AIA Life and Tata AIG General, and as helped these organizations set up from scratch and scale up significantly.
While setting up L&T General, he was instrumental in getting all regulatory clearances for the new company within 8 month, then a landmark in the industry. He has worked in companies like Godrej, Wipro, Compaq, Standard Chartered Bank before this.
He has won the Model Insurer Award in Technology from Celent two years in a row for L&T General, and has also been recipient of the Award “IT Leader of Asia” in 2011. Joydeep was nominated to the Board of Insurance Information Bureau of India in 2013 by the Insurance Regulator (IRDA) as an Independent Board Member in his personal capacity.
Joydeep served on the Board for 3 years. In this capacity he has had extensive exposure to regulatory processes and policy making in matters of Insurance and Reinsurance data and analytics matters including rate adequacy, medical and motor insurance market modernization, and overall risk calculation including heat maps of risk in India
Joydeep is a member of the Empowered Government Committee set up by the EAC-PM and IRDA for the Penetration of Insurance in India.
Joydeep is a member of the FICCI Health Insurance Committee
Joydeep is a member of the CII National Committee of Insurance & Pensions.
